I'm going to do this meme, then go to bed and post a random update tomorrow...
[info]onceiwasaturtle  tagged me with this one.  I'm not sure I can come up with ten habits/quirks/facts, but I'll try...

List 10 habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
Tag five other people to do the same.
Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to".

1.  I am the youngest of eight children and we grew up on a farm in southern Saskatchewan in a house that was probably less than 800 square feet.

2.  I'm half German/half Polish (or as I like to describe it:  I'm my own worst enemy  :D ), and 100% Canadian (3rd generation on my mother's side; second generation on my father's side.)

3.  I don't own a scale, have no idea what I weigh, don't really care and can't be bothered.  LOL   (No, I'm not a svelte goddess blessed with "perfect" weight but I'm also not unhealthily overweight.  Well, at least in my opinion.  :D )

4.  I hate wearing pants although I do love wearing a good pair of jeans.  Dress pants?  Hate 'em.  With a passion.

5.  I love wearing skirts.  They're fun, they're comfortable and I can find skirts that fit me almost anywhere I go.

6.  I have a pen fetish.  A smooth writing pen gliding over paper just makes me feel all warm and squishy inside.  In some ways, it's like a comfort food; it makes me feel...satisfied.  I indulge my pen fetish as much as possible and probably own well over a hundred pens (I'm too scared to count them).  I'm not a collector - it's the use of them that I love.

7.  I also have a shoe fetish.  High heels, strappy sandals, sexy boots - pretty much anything so long as they're not big and clunky.  I'm not a small woman and clunky shoes just weigh me down even more.  Gorgeous shoes make me feel...hmmmm...confident is a good term.  I'm also not a beautiful woman (neither do I send young children screaming in panic - I'm just plain) but sexy, gorgeous shoes definitely make me feel sexy and gorgeous.  (We all have our little fantasies to get us through the day... :D )

8.  I change my hair colour the way other people change their socks.  I've been several shades of brown, red, blonde, black and even purple.  I never did do the psychedelic colours but it was tempting.  I never know what colour I'll pick when it's time to dye my hair and it all depends on my mood and what colour I like on the day I'm buying the dye.

9.  Until I started writing fanfiction for Beck/Heather and Jericho, I hadn't written creatively for over 20 years.  Now I'm addicted (and hope I never get cured).

10.  I'm an extreme commitment-phobe.  Don't know why; I've just always been afraid of commitment and it doesn't seem to get any better with age.  *sigh*

Oh.  And #11 - I don't take directions all that well...so I'm afraid I'm going to say "I tag anyone who wants to do this."  LOL  And now I really need to go to bed.  I have work in the morning...

Oh, hey! We have a lot in common! I'm the youngest of 8 kids, too, don't own a scale, prefer skirts to pants, have a pen fetish, and would probably have a shoe fetish if I could ever find any that fit me. ^^

I'd think we were separated at birth except I'm pretty sure I'm a good *cough*decadeormore*cough* older than you. LOL

5/10 is a pretty impressive overlap!!

LOL! Well, my birthday's coming up, and I'll announce to the LJ world (I'm sure) that this will be my last year as a 20-something.... ^^

It is pretty impressive, especially for a group of randomly chosen traits/facts! And you don't find that many people who are the youngest of eight children in this day and age, now do you??

...yep...15 years difference so definitely not separated at birth!! :D

And you don't find that many people who are the youngest of eight children in this day and age, now do you??

That's for sure! It was more common when I was growing up, of course, because we were Catholic (for one thing) and even beyond the religious beliefs, birth control itself didn't become available in Canada until 1961, by which point there were already five kids in the family.

The surprising thing about the size of my family is the fact that my parents married late in life (my dad was 39; my mom was 29) and then proceeded to have 8 kids in 11 years.

Oh, my! I have a hard time imagining myself with more than one small child around at a time.... I can't imagine having so many so closely together!! (I'm not even quite halfway to thinking seriously about another yet and Loen's going to be 5 next week.)

From which you can probably guess that I'm the youngest by quite a number of years. ;-)

I believe it is safe to say I also have a pen fetish :) I know exactly what you mean. It kills me that I have a math class because then I can't use a pen :(

I also hope that you never lose your refound passion for writing :)

I totally spaced and missed your birthday! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! I made you some presents like a month ago and I was so excited about sharing them with you and I totally forgot. I fail, but here's some shinies for you!

Feb. 7th, 2010 04:03 am (UTC)
That squealing you heard? Was me!!!

THANK YOU for the shinies!!! And thank you for the belated birthday wishes! :D

I was hoping to get the photo cover of the 2nd issue of the comic because it had Beck and Heather on it (okay, not together or anything) but it still made my heart jump.

Oh, yeah - it also has Eric and Emily.

Anyway, I've yet to see any version of issue 2 - according to the Jericho boards at UniversalHD, the entire print run of the comic was sold out. I'm assuming Devil's Due is printing more, but I haven't heard from my local comic shop yet. :( :(

Thank you again - these shinies just made my day!

(...and I'm sorry I haven't even read your new story yet... talk about fail... :( )

Yay! I'm glad you like them :) I have another present in the works but I'm still having issues lol. Hopefully soon :) BUT I'm really glad you liked these. Those comics are awesome.

I don't know if you'll get into my new story, but you're welcome to check them out :)

Yay! I'm glad you like them :)

LOVED them!!

I have another present in the works but I'm still having issues lol. Hopefully soon :)

Really?!?! *jumps up and down squealing* I love shinies!! In between Oasis letters, I'm still working on my first Heck story - which I'm planning on posting on the weekend if not sooner. Every time I read the first part of it, I think of you - and I think you'll understand why when you read it!! ;D

Those comics are awesome.

They really are - and I keep meaning to post a link to a post on the Jericho UHD boards that has some gossip... *sigh* maybe later this week.

I don't know if you'll get into my new story, but you're welcome to check them out :)

Well, it's you so I know it'll be good. I just need to take the time and read it!! :D

Had a dream last night took a time travellin' ride
